![]() I don't think they will be there very long and that is a shame, because the food is really good. I must say that about 4 people asked us how our lunch was, but I wasn't going to tell them things that should have been obvious to them. The people working there were loudly talking and laughing together. The waiter leaned down from the stairs going up the wall from our table and asked me to pass my plate up to him. The servers acted like they had never worked in a sit-down restaurant. ![]() My friend got a pork chop and it was tiny. The outside of the pepper shaker was gross and when I picked up the candle on the table to move it, there was food suck to the bottom of the candle and the table. I asked the manager what it was and she said, "it's supposed to be rice, not sure what it is, I'll get you another one." We looked around and every salt shaker at the tables around us was the same. Then the salt shaker had something revolting in it (not rice). They charge $3 for a soft drink and $4 for tea and they only have sweet tea. Restaurant was empty and they seated us in the back by the room where construction was being done. The problems? All 3 times I have been there, we have asked for something that "oh, we ran out of that" - at lunch. I am amazed that they only have Italian, Ranch and Vinaigrette for salad. I have been there 3 times - I keep trying. I'm not sure I have ever had cabbage with bell pepper in it. The customer service was amazing and very shocking because so many people give black owned businesses a bad name.We just got back from eating there and first off, the food was really good although the cabbage was really sweet. He stayed attentive the entire time my family and I were there. While paying for my order one of the young gentleman came and grabbed my tray and took it to my table. The portions were huge! I also got banana pudding to go along with it. I ordered the 3 pc mix with mac n cheese and collard greens. You order your food when you walk in, more like an old school Piccadilly set up. One of the cooks stated they don't get a chance to go to church because they are there on a Sunday working to feed the customers. One thing I REALLY liked that they did was led everyone in prayer before eating. He's actually very nice looking in person (yes I said it!). ![]() We went on a Sunday around 11 am when they first opened. Based on reviews and things I have heard I was telling her that the food may not be good.BUTTTTTT ONCE AGAIN I WAS WRONG. With that being said she wanted a chance to stop by the Houston location to see if it was actually good. My mom was in town and she was catching up on the latest episodes of Sweetie Pie's. I had heard so many mix reviews and people putting this place down. Let me be the one to say I was REALLY skeptical about trying this place. id come back here again but only when Im ready to take a nap. Theres no true ambiance's here yet cuz you can tell they bought out an old hispanic restaurant and flipped it. Lemonade: sugar, water and the color yellow. the texture of them reminds me of biting into a sweet potato pie (which i know is yams. im a slow cooked fall off the bone type oxtail eater. Once entering at 1:15 the wait was 45 min to 1 hr (we put our names on the list and waited). We live far North of Houston and drove to this Southwest location to try the food. so today we made it happen at a place we both never had before. Today Saturday March 18/2017 My mom and I went to Sweet Times by Sweetie Pies after reading the reviews to try it for ourselves. So my mama's been dying to eat lunch wit me but our schedules conflict and she lives in Spring.
